Catalina Avasilencei
Catalina specializes in corporate law, M&A and
capital markets as core areas of practice, and has
relevant experience in several regulatory matters
including insurance, environment, pharmaceuticals
and data protection. Catalina advised leading
international clients, on matters such as the
acquisition by Morgan Stanley of a Romanian
brokerage business or the acquisition by RBS of ABN
Amro. Catalina holds a Master degree in Private
International Law and International Commerce of
Paris I University in 2006, after having graduated
from the Law School of Bucharest University and
from the French-Romanian College of European
Studies. Prior to joining Peli Filip, Catalina worked in
a Magic Circle law firm.
Cristina Racota
Cristina’s main practice areas are mergers and
acquisitions, projects & energy and insurance. Before
joining Peli Filip, Cristina has worked in the
correspondent law firm of PricewaterhouseCoopers in
Romania and in the leading Romanian law firm. Her
credentials include: advising one of the leading
Romanian energy companies regarding the
purchase of several projects for development of
wind-farms in Romania, advising a major natural
gas distribution operator regarding the unbundling of
its supply and distribution activities or advising the
Romanian natural gas transportation operator in
relation with an initial public offering on the Bucharest
stock exchange and in relation with the construction
of a Trans-European Energy Network passing through
Romania.
Manuela Lupeanu
Manuela is specialised in competition law. She attended
the University of Paris I Pantheon Sorbonne - French
– Romanian Law College of European Studies and
obtained a Master Degree in European Union Law at
the University of Strasbourg 3 Robert Schuman
(Strasbourg, France). Before joining Peli Filip,
Manuela has worked in the competition law team of a
large Romanian law firm, where she was involved in
antitrust issues, state aid related activities and
merger notifications to the Competition Council.
Highlights include assisting an important
pharmaceutical distributor during the final stage of
the Competition Council investigation, assisting
Colgate-Palmolive during a Competition Council
investigation or assisting a large international steel company on
state aid issues.
Monica Statescu
Monica’s primary practice area is mergers and
acquisitions while she gained experience in
other areas such as capital markets, privatisations
and general corporate. Before joining Peli Filip,
Monica has worked in the Bucharest and Paris offices
of a Magic Circle firm and in the leading Romanian
law firm. Monica has acted on projects in a large
number of jurisdictions within CEE. These include
advising a major international bank on its proposed
cross-border merger, the first cross-border merger
involving a Romanian business, advising a German
advertising company on the acquisition of media and
advertising business in Romania and restructuring
of certain of its Estearn European operations or
advising a major American oil services company on
the acquisition of controlling stakes and businesses in
several major Romanian companies operating in the
oil field.
Daniel Moreanu
Daniel’s core practice area is real estate. He gained
experience also on corporate law, commercial
contracts an labour matters. Before joining Peli Filip,
he worked in the leading Romanian law firm. Daniel’s real estate expertise includes structuring of complex transactions from acquisitions of real estate properties up to exit point, development and financing of real estate projects, leasing, title insurance, private-public partnership in real estate projects, infrastructure projects, as well as various regulatory matters related
to development of real estate projects. He has advised leading international real estate investors in the
following areas: office (Deutsche Bank / RREEF Real
Estate Fund, Globe Trade Center, Bluehouse, Fabian
Romania), commercial (Sonae Sierra, Argo Real
Estate Opportunities Fund, Plaza Centers,), logistics
(ProLogis, VGP, NBGI), residential (GTC, Plaza
Centers, CEFIN), infrastructure (Transgaz).
Alexandra Manciulea
Alexandra has been mainly involved in banking &
finance matters. Before joining Peli Filip, Alexandra
worked in the Bucharest office of a Magic Circle law
firm. Her recent experience includes, inter alia,
advising an important manufacturer of brake
friction materials in relation to the accession of its
Romanian affiliate to an EUR 270 million senior term,
second lien, restructuring and revolving facilities
and to EUR 105 million mezzanine facilities as well as
advising an important bank on the Romanian
market in the process of reviewing its standard loan
documentation.
Ioana Ene
Ioana’s main practice areas are real estate and
mergers & acquisitions. She advised on significant
real estate deals in Romania, including private
equity transactions, leasing and commercial
agreements. Recent highlights include advising
RREEF Real Estate Opportunity Funds (member of
Deutsche Bank Group) in the largest real estate
transaction to date in Romania. Before joining Peli Filip
team, Ioana practiced in the leading Romanian law
firm.
Oana Badarau
Oana is mainly involved in real estate and M&A
work. Her experience includes structuring and
implementing real estate acquisitions, assisting
clients in connection with complex, long-term lease
agreements or commercial agreements. Highlights
include advising ProLogis, one of the world’s leading
logistics companies, as well as advising on several
large Peli Filip acquisitions for Sonae Sierra, Before joining our team, Oana practiced in the leading Romanian law firm.
Eliza Baias
Eliza's main practice areas are banking, capital
markets and real estate. She was part of the team
advising a leading regional telecommunications and
media company on its attempted London initial
public offering of global depositary receipts.
Eliza has graduated from Babes Bolyai Law
University, Cluj Napoca. Before joining our team, she
has worked in a Magic Circle law firm.
Ramona Chereji
Ramona’s main practice areas are mergers &
acquisitions, competition and energy. She
graduated from the University Babes Bolyai
in Cluj-Napoca. Before joining Peli Filip team,
Ramona worked within a smaller Romanian
law firm.
Maria-Ecaterina Burlacu
Ecaterina’s main practice areas are mergers and
acquisitions, general corporate and labour. Prior to
joining Peli Filip she has worked in a smaller Romanian law firm. She has graduated from the Alexandru Ioan Cuza University Faculty of Law in Iasi.
Diana Oane
Diana has graduated from the Faculty of Law, Babes
Bolyai University, Cluj Napoca. Diana was one of the
leading graduates of her generation. She is part of
the mergers & acquisition and real estate team.
