The expertise of our lawyers gained in previous engagements includes:

• Acquisition finance: advising a leading European
  bank in relation to a GBP 150 million senior loan
  and a GBP 35 million mezzanine loan for the
  purpose of financing the borrowers’ acquisition of a
  plumbing and heating business or the EUR 100
  million facility to one of the largest groups in
  Romania in relation to the restructuring of its
  ownership in a leading Romanian bank.
• Asset finance: advising in connection with the
  USD 48 million facility for the construction of a
  ship by a major Romanian shipyard;advising a major Asian bank in connection with an approximately USD 400 million financing to the largest shipyard in Romania in order to assist it in the construction and delivery of six 4,000 TEU container vessels; assisting a major international bank on the financing of the acquisition of two Boeing 737 – 700 by the Romanian national flag carrier TAROM.
• Real estate finance: advising a leading regional
  bank in connection with a EUR 84.5 million
  secured financing to one of the largest real estate
  developers in Romania to assist it in the
  establishment and operation of a shopping and
  entertainment center in Cluj, Romania; assisiting one of the largest real estate developers in the region in connection to a facility of up to EUR 100 million
  for the purpose of financing the construction of a
  shopping center.
• Security packages: advising in connection with the
  structuring and creation of an innovative pledge
  over oil in pipelines; assisting one of the largest
  banks in the world on the creation of real estate
  securities on office buildings in Bucharest;
  assisting a major supranational financial
  institution in relation to the preparation of
  standard forms of security documents to be used in
  Romanian project financing transactions.

Our lawyers have also advised on some of the most
significant acquisitions of financial institutions in
Romania (such as the EUR 3.75 billion sale of the
largest Romanian bank,) as well as on partnerships
in the financial institutions sector (such as advising
the leading privately owned Romanian bank in
connection with the establishment of a Private
Banking Partnership with a major European
bank, resulting in the fourth largest commercial
bank in Romania in retail banking and corporate
banking operations).
