Ioan is primarily involved in M&A and mainstream corporate work. Other areas of
specialisation are private equity, concessions and public procurement, while having
gained also extensive experience in labour law, real estate, banking and capital
markets. Before joining Peli Filip, Ioan has worked in the Bucharest and Frankfurt
offices of a Magic Circle firm and in the Romanian leading law firm.
On M&A matters, he advised clients concluding successful deals in a variety of
industries among which automotive, energy, oil field services, banking, pharma,
telecommunications or IT. The categories of clients assisted range from top
international corporations or private equity funds to Government agencies,
financial corporations or family businesses. Highlights include the acquisition by
Ford Motor Company of former Daewoo manufacturing plant in Romania, the EUR
3.75 billion sale of the largest Romanian bank, Banca Comerciala Romana S.A.
to Erste Bank, the USD 350 million acquisition of Terapia S.A. by Ranbaxy
Laboratories or the acquisition by Vodafone of the leading Romanian mobile telecom operator MobiFon S.A. Romania.
